Welcome to Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering Engineering.
The Department started functioning in the year 1999 offering a B.Tech Degree course in Electronics and Communication Engineering with an intake of 60. Currently the intake for the B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering course is 120 with an additional intake of 12 students through lateral entry scheme in the third semester. The M.Tech Programme in Communication Engineering and Signal Processing started in the year 2011 with an intake of 18 students. Both B.Tech and M.Tech courses are affiliated to Kannur University till 2014 admission. The courses are affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University from 2015 admission onwards.
The faculty and staff members are well qualified and trained in various disciplines of Electronics and Communication Engineering and capable of meeting the curricular and co-curricular requirements of students. Well-equipped laboratories with state of the art instruments are functioning under the department. Department offers Wi-Fi connectivity to faculty, students and staff members. Online video courses, online journals etc. are accessible to the students, staff and faculty members of the department. Department offers various training programs to the students to cater the needs of the industry. The department has a very good advisory system, class committee and PTA which helps in maintaining student -teacher-parent relationship. The faculty strength is 28 comprising of One Professor, six Associate Professor and Twenty one Assistant Professors. Technical staff strength is 18.
The department has a well-experienced faculty with its members having post- graduate and doctoral degrees earned from prestigious institutes in India. The laboratories of the department are well-equipped ones and are maintained by dedicated and experienced staff. The department has an efficient advisory system which helps in maintaining the student-teacher-parent relationship.

Program Educational Objectives
PEO I (Core Competence) To excel in problem solving relevant to Electronics and Communication Engineering.
PEO II (Breadth) To conceptualize, design, implement and operate electronic systems.
PEO-3: To provide opportunities for the students to work with multidiscipline field of engineering so as to enlarge the ability among the students to understand the different industrial environments.
PEO-4: To inculcate a sense of ethics, professionalism and effective communication skills amongst graduates.
PO1 (Engineering Knowledge) Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science and the fundamentals of Electronics and Communication Engineering to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO2 (Problem Analysis) Identify, formulate, refer literature and analyze complex engineering problems reaching appropriate conclusions using first principles of mathematics and engineering sciences.
PO3 (Design/Development of Solutions) Compose solutions for complex engineering problems and develop system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health, safety, societal, and environmental aspects.
PO4 (Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems) Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions.
PO5 (Modern Tool Usage) Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
PO6 (The Engineer and Society) Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
PO7 (Environment and Sustainability) Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
PO8 (Ethics) Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

Logic Circuit Design Lab
Equipped with Digital IC Trainer kits, Digital Storage Oscilloscopes, and specialized tools for designing and testing combinational and sequential digital circuits.
Communication Engineering Lab
Dedicated to hands-on experiments in analog and digital communication systems, modulation techniques, and signal transmission principles.
Digital Signal Processing Lab
Focused on DSP concepts, equipped with hardware and software tools for signal processing algorithms, filter design, and real-time applications.
Simulation Lab
Advanced computing facilities with industry-standard simulation software for circuit design, VLSI, embedded systems, and communication system modeling.
